Listening and Loving August 26, 2008

Tonight we will have our first meeting in our house church.  We are doing the Experiencing God study, which I have heard great things from those who have already done the study.

What I have been learning:how to listen to God….

Listening to people seems to be something that comes naturally for me, but with God it is a different story… I find it hard to listen to Him because I want Him to speak to me like He spoke to Moses or Paul.

But I have a feeling that God just wants to speak to me through scripture right now.  This past week He has told me that He will always provides the riches that we need (meaning I will get a job sometime).  Also, with my interactions with people or lack there of, He has revealed to me that as hard as I try to love others, I need to seek and love Him first. 2 Peter 1: 3-7 are verses that speak of this and I encourage you to do so!

Matthew 6:33&34
33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

God, you are in control and it amazes me that when I am in your word I am comforted. When I am not, I just doubt and worry about the future. How can I wrap my mind around in being soothed for today and not be nervous about the what’s to come! This morning I felt great and couldn’t wait to trust in you. Now that I have been applying for jobs my mind doesn’t know what to think.

How amazing are you that you can talk to everyone at once….that you are literally GOD

I mean think about it – Averi was praying with you and I was thinking “mmm does He have time for me?” AND HOW GREAT BECAUSE YOU DO!! Really you are truly wonderful! Thank you for being that BIG!

Alright, I will now be able to update my blog on a regular basis!! So starting this week I will put up our trip out here, what I have been reading in scripture, where we are as a team, people that God has already touched, and job updates….and other random things : )
