Well it is a dark and quiet morning…..I was up all night with a migraine, took Excedrin (which cured the migraine but has caffeine and has kept me up all night because I took it on an empty stomach).
But you know what?! I can really hear God speak in the wee hours of the night and morning – probably because I’m not talking His ear off because mentally and physically I’m tired. Anyways, God spoke – He said rest in me, My peace is with you always.
I don’t know if you know this about me but I’m a constant thinker. Topics include – dwelling on issues, praying, singing, creating to do lists, contemplating, thinking about people, places, ideas, dreams…..ya know the norm. Well I have been reading this book titled Meet Mr. Smith (is the title suppose to be underlined or italicized?). This book is written by Eric and Leslie Ludy and it is about marriage stuff. I mean singles, pre-married, and/or already married people can read it, but Jeff and I read it a few months after we got married.
I ran out of Karen Kingsbury books : ) ; P, so I decided to re-read some of the books we have at home and this was the one I chose (along with a heavy read book titled Unveiling Islam) Continuing on with the purpose of this blog…..
One of the characters in the book is Mr. Purity and there is a test in the back of the book. The first question was, “What or where is the position of prayer in your life?”.
What a good question? I thought anyways. So I have been chewing on that one for a while now and encourage you to do the same.
It is a process, ya know, to captivate your every thought whether it is sinful or God glorifying. Even that thought – are all thoughts either wrong or right – black or white? All I know is I am pursuing more prayer and singing, as oppose to dwelling, worrying, comparing, and thinking poorly of others.
So please be in prayer for me as I learn and I will do the same for you!!
Kari, I can relate to this! Thanks for posting. Also, I am reading a book right now called: The praying Life by Paul Miller. It is excellent and a good reference for these questions you bring up…very soothing and poignant to the soul. Anyway, life has been a whirlwind of events both good and bad…We miss you guys and hope you’re doing well,
